Groups that work to protect Washington State's environment, wildlife, and economy have come together to form the Washington Invasive Species Coalition.

The Washington Invasive Species Coalition: Working Towards Solutions

Our mission is to protect native habitats and the economy of Washington State by stopping the spread of invasive species.

Our goals are:
1) To close two major pathways of introduction: marine (through ballast water from large ships) and terrestrial (through garden plant introductions)
2) Help draft a strategic plan to control existing invasive species, and prevent new infestations (through the Washington Invasive Species Council)
